Donation Drive to Support Families Affected by Venezuela's Humanitarian Crisis
Local organizations are joining forces to support families affected by the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Venezuela through a community donation drive.
The effort, organized in partnership with the California Fire Foundation, will collect essential supplies at the Palm Springs Police Department Training Center. Organizers are asking community members to donate clean clothing, blankets, shoes, bottled water and other basic household necessities to help families facing hardship.
Organizers say the goal is to provide meaningful assistance to Venezuelan families in need while bringing the local community together in support of an international humanitarian effort.
Palm Springs police officials say participating in the event is another way to strengthen relationships with the community and demonstrate the department's commitment to serving residents beyond traditional law enforcement responsibilities.
Donations will be accepted from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Organizers ask that all donated items be clean, gently used when applicable and in good condition.
Community leaders hope the drive will provide much-needed relief while encouraging residents to make a difference through simple acts of generosity.
