Sugar Cookies, Golf Trivia And A Whole Lot Of Cheek On Today's Hashtag Holiday Calendar And Pop Quiz
Thursday brought a lineup of quirky holidays on Hashtag Holiday Calendar and Pop Quiz, the morning show segment hosted by NBC Palm Springs weatherman Jerry Steffen. First up was National Don't Put All Your Eggs in One Omelet Day, a playful twist on the old idiom about not putting all your eggs in one basket, and a lighthearted reminder to spread your efforts instead of overcommitting to just one thing.
Next on the calendar was National Sugar Cookie Day. The classic treat traces back to Pennsylvania in the 18th century, and it remains one of the simplest cookies to make, especially with a store-bought roll of dough sliced up and tossed in the oven.
Then came the day's main event, National Dimples Day. The segment gave a nod to famous dimpled smiles, including actor Michael B. Jordan and actress Rosie Perez, before diving into two dimple-themed trivia questions to put viewers' knowledge to the test.
Question 1) centers on a 1987 Billboard number one country hit with lyrics about exes scattered across Texas, including one with dimples living in Temple. Who sang the song?
A) Clint Black
B) George Strait
C) Kenny Rogers
Question 2) turns to the golf course, where the small dimples on a golf ball reduce aerodynamic drag and create lift, helping the ball fly up to four times farther than a smooth sphere would. How many dimples would you find on the 2026 version of the popular Titleist Pro V1 golf ball?
A) 128 dimples
B) 388 dimples
C) 784 dimples
