Palm Springs Power Look to Stay on Top of Standings During Four-Game Series Against Inland Valley Legends
The Palm Springs Power are looking to continue their strong season as they take on the Inland Valley Legends in a key four-game series at Palm Springs Stadium.
The Power entered the weekend sitting in first place in the standings, while the Legends were right behind them in second. With the postseason approaching, Palm Springs knows every game matters as the team works to defend its title.
“We’ve got some great players and some new coaches joining Casey Dill, and they’ve all been doing a really good job,” said Palm Springs Power owner Andrew Starke. “The competition seems to get better and better every single year that we’re playing.”
Despite their success, Starke says the team cannot become comfortable.
“We’re happy that we’re in first place, but we can’t sit back otherwise we certainly won’t be for very long,” he said. “We haven’t even clinched a playoff berth yet.”
Along with the action on the field, fans at Palm Springs Stadium had another reason to come out — the Wienermobile made an appearance at the ballpark.
Starke says the iconic vehicle, which has been traveling the country since 1936, brought another level of excitement to the game-day experience.
“The Wienermobile is iconic,” Starke said. “This is the first time that in my 25 years of being here in Palm Springs that I’ve known that it’s come out here to our valley, to our community.”
The Palm Springs Power say the goal is to continue bringing the community together while making a push toward another championship.
“More than one reason to come to the ballpark,” Starke said. “You can come for a ball game, you can come for a dog, or you can come to see the Wienermobile.”
