Sinner Wins Wimbledon, Tom Kim Captures Scottish Open Title
Jannik Sinner showed why he remains the top-ranked men's tennis player in the world, capturing the Wimbledon men's singles title today.
Sinner defeated Alexander Zverev in four sets to claim his second consecutive Wimbledon championship and the fifth Grand Slam title of his career.
In addition to his two Wimbledon victories, Sinner has won two Australian Open titles and one U.S. Open championship. The tennis calendar now shifts to the hard-court season with the next Grand Slam, the US Open, set for later this summer in New York.
Meanwhile, Tom Kim is the new Scottish Open champion. The 24-year-old South Korean became emotional after securing his first tournament victory in three years, finishing the event at 17-under par.
Golf now turns its attention to the season's fourth and final major championship, The Open Championship, which begins Thursday.
And in the NFL, the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks are reportedly in the process of being sold to a venture capital group in a deal valuing the franchise at approximately $9.6 billion, which would set a record for an NFL team valuation.
The group is led by venture capitalist and billionaire Benan Khoslaff, who currently holds a minority ownership stake in the San Francisco 49ers and would need to divest that interest before becoming the Seahawks' controlling owner.
Late Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen purchased the Seahawks in 1997, helping keep the franchise in Seattle and overseeing one of the most successful eras in team history.
The sale remains subject to approval by NFL owners in the coming months.
