An NBC Palm Springs Weather Heads-Up on Monday, July 13, 2026!

The Coachella Valley will be under mostly cloudy skies today with high humidity and slightly below-normal high temperatures around 104°.

And -- with the influx of monsoonal moisture over Southern California -- mountain thunderstorms are a possibility today along with a few Valley showers.

Because mid-level steering currents will be out of the SSE this afternoon, the areas in the Coachella Valley with the best shot of seeing accumulative rainfall will be nearest the foothills of the Santa Rosa and San Jacinto Mountains.

Although we'll see more sunshine on Tuesday and Wednesday, humidity levels will remain high.

Clouds will begin to thicken on Thursday into the weekend as monsoonal moisture makes a return visit to the Southland. The next best chance of showers and mountain t-storms will occur on Friday.
