Coachella Valley Cities Team Up for Summer Blood Drive Challenge

All nine Coachella Valley cities are coming together later this week to help boost the local blood supply.

LifeStream Blood Bank is hosting its annual Summer Blood Drive Challenge, led this year by the city of Indian Wells.

The blood drive will take place Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Indian Wells Golf Resort in the Players Room.

Walk-in donors are welcome.

Those who donate at the event will receive a Coachella Valley Blood Drive T-shirt and a $25 Target gift card, while supplies last.

City officials say the challenge is an opportunity for residents throughout the valley to come together and help support hospitals and patients in need during the busy summer months, when blood donations often decline.

The City of Indian Wells says the event is designed to help some of the community's most vulnerable neighbors by ensuring lifesaving blood products remain available when they are needed most.
