Passion Church becomes first Palm Springs faith-based Blue Zones Project approved organization
Passion Church is the first faith-based organization in Palm Springs to earn Blue Zones Project Approved status, marking a milestone in the city's ongoing effort to help residents live longer, healthier lives.
The designation was celebrated Sunday at the church's campus, where Mayor Pro Tem David Ready and community members gathered to recognize the achievement.
Church leaders say the recognition reflects their commitment to promoting healthy habits, strong community connections and overall well-being.
"We hear people asking about, talking about Blue Zones constantly," a church leader said. "As soon as they find out that we're a partner, that we're working with Blue Zones, we get to share about everything from moving naturally to eating healthy and making wise choices, finding community."
Leaders also say faith plays an important role in supporting people's overall wellness.
"Obviously we believe that believing and having faith is a big part of that as well," the church leader said. "Being able to come alongside those people, those individuals, and support them and be their cheerleaders and guide them as best as we can—it's an honor for sure."
The celebration also featured food, activities and opportunities for families and neighbors to connect while highlighting the Blue Zones Project's mission of creating healthier communities throughout Palm Springs.
