Senator Mitch McConnell Gives Health Update After Weeks of Silence

Republican Senator Mitch McConnell released a health update and a photo Sunday, breaking weeks of silence about his hospitalization. McConnell says he suffered a fall in mid-June, followed by a mild case of pneumonia that required medical care.

He says he was briefly unconscious after the fall, though doctors ran a battery of tests and told him he had not suffered a heart attack or stroke.

McConnell says he's now at a rehabilitation center, working on regaining his strength while doctors run more tests to figure out what caused the fall. He says he's still handling Senate business with his staff, but is not able to return to the Senate "quite yet."
