Ryan Gosling Joins Marvel as Ghost Rider, Comic-Con Reveals New MCU Movie

Comic-Con 2026 brought some of the biggest entertainment announcements of the year, led by the news that Ryan Gosling is officially joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Marvel Studios revealed that Gosling will portray Ghost Rider, the supernatural antihero known for his flaming skull and motorcycle. The film will be directed by Shawn Levy, who is also currently directing Gosling in the upcoming "Star Wars: Starfighter."

"Star Wars: Starfighter" is scheduled to hit theaters next May, while Marvel's "Ghost Rider" is slated for release in 2028. The announcement generated one of the biggest reactions at Comic-Con, as fans celebrated Gosling's long-awaited MCU debut.

Meanwhile, Christopher Nolan's latest blockbuster, "The Odyssey," continues its impressive run at the global box office despite facing online piracy. A leaked copy of the film briefly circulated on social media platform X, attracting more than two million views before it was removed and the account responsible was suspended.

The leak appears to have done little to slow the film's momentum. "The Odyssey" has earned approximately $640 million worldwide during its first 10 days in theaters, making it one of the year's biggest box office successes.

Also making headlines is "Wham! Ten Days in China," a new documentary chronicling George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley's historic 1985 performances in Beijing and Guangzhou. The concerts marked the first time a Western pop group performed in China, offering a unique look at a pivotal cultural moment in music history.

The documentary arrives in theaters Tuesday, giving music fans a behind-the-scenes look at one of pop music's most groundbreaking international tours.
