Planet Fitness Donates More Than 50 Pieces of Fitness Equipment to Cathedral City High School

Cathedral City High School athletes are getting a major upgrade to their strength-training facilities thanks to a donation from Planet Fitness Cathedral City.
Planet Fitness is donating more than 50 pieces of strength and fitness equipment to the high school, including bikes, ellipticals, Smith machines, adjustable and flat benches, cable towers, row machines, leg extension and leg curl machines, chest presses, lat pulldowns, calf raises and dumbbells ranging from 5 to 75 pounds.
The donation is designed to give student-athletes access to commercial-grade equipment capable of supporting daily use by multiple sports teams.
Strength training can play an important role in athletic development, including helping athletes build stronger muscles and supporting the structural tissues that help protect the body during physical activity.
The donation also comes as high school athletic programs continue to emphasize strength and conditioning as part of injury prevention and overall performance.
The equipment donation will take place Tuesday, August 25, at 8 p.m. at Planet Fitness Cathedral City, located at 34461 Date Palm Drive.
The donation includes equipment that can be used for a wide range of strength-training exercises, giving Cathedral City High School athletes additional options as they train for their respective sports.
