Utility Assistance Workshop Coming to Indio

High summer temperatures can lead to higher utility bills, and Riverside County officials are offering help to residents who are struggling to pay them.

The county's Community Action Partnership program is hosting a utility assistance workshop in Indio on Sept. 3.

The clinic will be held at the Molina Healthcare Center off Highway 111 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The program is designed to help individuals and families who are having difficulty paying their electric and gas bills.

Residents seeking assistance are asked to bring copies of their current utility bills, documents showing their current income and a valid form of identification.

Officials say residents who need help before Sept. 3 can also receive walk-in assistance on weekdays at the Mecca Family and Farm Workers Service Center and the WIC Center in Desert Hot Springs.
