Drivers Enjoy Lower Gas Prices This Memorial Day Weekend, Lowest Since 2021
If you’re hitting the road this Memorial Day weekend, you’ll notice some relief at the gas pump. According to AAA, the national average cost of a gallon of regular unleaded gas as of Sunday was $3.18. That’s the lowest price for Memorial Day weekend since 2021.
Drivers are seeing a significant drop in prices compared to the same time last year, when the national average was about $3.59 per gallon. This year’s prices are even more favorable when compared to 2022, when the average was a steep $4.60 per gallon.
The drop in gas prices means travelers are getting more bang for their buck this holiday weekend, making road trips a more affordable option for many Americans celebrating Memorial Day.

Palm Springs firefighters responded Thursday to a report of a person struck by lightning in the Chino Canyon area. The person was transported to a hospital for medical treatment. Firefighters also responded to a palm tree fire in Chino Canyon that officials say was caused by an apparent lightning strike.
