FedEx Launches Same-Day Delivery to Compete With Amazon’s Rapid Shipping Push
FedEx is stepping into the fast-delivery race, announcing a new same-day shipping service aimed at helping retailers compete with growing consumer demand for speed.
The new offering includes a two-hour delivery option as well as end-of-day service, giving businesses more flexibility in how they fulfill orders.
The move comes as competition intensifies in the logistics and e-commerce space. Amazon recently introduced one-hour delivery for Prime members in select areas, raising expectations for faster shipping times across the industry.
FedEx says its new program will allow retailers to decide how to handle the added costs of rapid delivery. Businesses can choose to pass the cost directly to customers or build it into product pricing.
Industry analysts say faster delivery is becoming a key factor for consumers when deciding where to shop, putting pressure on retailers to keep up with evolving expectations.
The expansion signals a broader shift in retail, where convenience and speed are increasingly driving purchasing decisions.
