PepsiCo Says Lower Snack Prices Helped Drive Strong First Quarter
PepsiCo says making its snacks more affordable paid off, reporting an 8.5% increase in net revenue for the first quarter.
Prices on some of its most popular products, including Doritos, Lay's, and Cheetos, are now lower than they were just a few months ago. Depending on where you shop locally, some of those reductions reach around 15%.
The company says the move was deliberate, aimed at appealing to customers who have been feeling the squeeze financially. The strategy appears to be working, with the revenue bump suggesting shoppers returned to shelves after pulling back on snack spending during a period of broader inflation.
