Sunny, Gizmo Grow in Bald Eagle Nest
It’s a peaceful Sunday morning in Big Bear as eaglets Sunny and Gizmo playfully tumble around their nest.
Their mom, Jackie, stands perched nearby, keeping a watchful eye on her little ones.
Earlier this week, an intruder eagle flew too close, prompting both parents to take turns guarding the nest.
Thankfully, the family remained safe, and the babies are thriving.
Right now, Sunny is noticeably bigger than Gizmo.
That’s because Sunny was born first, hatching on March 4th.
Gizmo followed a bit later, making them the younger sibling.
Despite the size difference, both eaglets are active, alert, and growing fast.
In just a few weeks, their sizes may even out—unless one is a female and the other a male.
Experts say we won’t know their sex for sure until they’re 9 to 10 weeks old.
Currently, both eaglets are about the size of hens, weighing around 2 to 3 pounds.
With each day, they grow stronger, and it’s a joy for viewers to watch their progress.

A troubling history is coming to light in a Palm Desert husband’s death. 65-year old Vicky Kim is accused in the death of her husband — but prosecutors say she had previously faced several domestic violence cases involving him. The Riverside County District Attorney’s Office says it had secured protective orders against Kim before a judge later resolved her cases as misdemeanors, released her from custody and terminated those orders. Now, Kim is expected to be arraigned in connection with her husband’s death. Court records allege the weapon used was a flagpole.
