American Woman Freed in Prisoner Swap
An American woman is finally home after spending over a year in a Russian prison.
Ksenia Karelina, a dual U.S.-Russian citizen and former ballet dancer, was released in a prisoner swap.
She was originally detained in 2024 for making a $50 donation to a humanitarian group supporting Ukraine.
Russian authorities accused her of treason, sparking international concern over her arrest.
Karelina’s release was part of a high-level exchange between the U.S. and Russia.
She landed in Abu Dhabi before continuing her journey home.
Footage shows her smiling, hugging her boyfriend, and expressing heartfelt gratitude.
"I am so, so grateful to be home," she said, holding back tears.
She added, "I’ve never felt more blessed to be American."
The White House credited UFC President Dana White and President Trump for helping broker the deal.
Officials say the negotiations required months of behind-the-scenes diplomacy.
Her story is now a symbol of resilience, freedom, and international cooperation.

Palm Springs firefighters responded Thursday to a report of a person struck by lightning in the Chino Canyon area. The person was transported to a hospital for medical treatment.
