Record Numbers Expected For Fourth of July Travel
Summer has officially arrived, marking one of the busiest travel seasons of the year.
Gas prices remain the lowest they’ve been since 2020 and 2021.
Because of this, AAA predicts a record number of travelers during the Fourth of July holiday.
The holiday travel period runs from June 28th to July 6th.
During this time, nearly 62 million Americans are expected to hit the road by car.
Air travel is also expected to reach new heights.
Nearly six million people are predicted to fly to their holiday destinations.
Other forms of transportation will see big numbers too.
AAA forecasts that about five million people will travel by bus, train, or cruise ship.
This surge marks a return to travel enthusiasm after recent years of uncertainty.
Experts say affordable gas prices and summer vacations are driving this trend.
Travelers should prepare for crowded roads and busy airports throughout the holiday week.

UPDATE: The San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department have confirmed that one person has died and another two were injured after a home explosion on Ocotillo Rd in Twentynine Palms. Security camera video from a nearby neighbor captured the dramatic blast around 8:28 p.m., followed by a fire that brought a massive emergency response from fire and law enforcement agencies across the Morongo Basin. The burning structure has been confirmed as a residence at 6427 Ocotillo Ave. The cause of the explosion remains under investigation and the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Arson/Bomb Detail team is conducting the investigation.
