House Oversight Committee Receives First Jeffrey Epstein Estate Documents

New tonight, there are updates in the ongoing investigation tied to Jeffrey Epstein. The House Oversight Committee has received its first batch of documents from the estate of the late convicted sex offender.

A lawyer for the estate confirmed the initial handover includes Epstein’s so-called “birthday book,” a collection of letters presented to him for his 50th birthday. According to reports, one of those notes bore the name of President Donald Trump. Trump, however, has denied writing the note.

The House Oversight Committee subpoenaed the estate earlier this year as part of its effort to examine Epstein’s finances, connections, and any possible enablers in his sex trafficking operation. Lawyers for the estate said additional documents will be turned over on a rolling basis as the committee’s investigation continues.

The latest developments underscore Congress’s efforts to piece together the late financier’s wide-ranging network of associates and to better understand how his crimes were facilitated.
