Trump Fires Attorney General Pam Bondi, Names Todd Blanche as Acting Replacement
President Donald Trump has removed Pam Bondi from her role as attorney general, marking another major shakeup within his administration.
Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche will serve as acting attorney general while the administration considers a permanent replacement.
In a statement, Trump praised Bondi’s service, calling her a “great American patriot,” but did not provide a specific reason for her departure. Sources, however, indicate the president had grown frustrated with her performance on several issues, including high-profile investigations.
Bondi had faced scrutiny over her handling of matters tied to Jeffrey Epstein, as well as concerns from some within Trump’s circle that more aggressive legal action had not been taken against political opponents.
The move comes just weeks after another cabinet-level change, signaling a broader reshuffling within the administration.
Potential replacements are already being discussed, with several names under consideration as the White House looks to fill the role permanently.
