Engineer Creates AI Tool to Help Find Missing Persons After Losing His Father
A Kentucky engineer is turning personal tragedy into a powerful tool to help others find missing loved ones.
Jyrone Parker developed an artificial intelligence-powered platform after spending months searching for his father, Jyronna “JD” Parker, who went missing in October and was later found dead in March.
The platform, called Project Aziz, allows families to upload photos, videos, and key information about a missing person while organizing search efforts and receiving real-time tips. The system also shares information directly with local law enforcement, improving communication during critical moments.
Parker says one of the biggest challenges during his own search was a lack of coordination and timely updates. That experience became the driving force behind the platform’s design.
“The real-time communication is the biggest part,” he said.
During the search for his father, Parker even experimented with AI-powered cameras and microphones trained to recognize his father’s face and voice. While that technology did not ultimately lead to finding him, it laid the groundwork for what would become Project Aziz.
Now, Parker is offering the platform for free, hoping it can help other families avoid the pain and uncertainty he experienced.
He says the project has given him a sense of purpose as he continues to process his loss, and he’s now working with community members and law enforcement to expand its reach.
His goal is simple: to make sure no family has to search alone again.
