Kamala Harris Says She’s “Thinking About” 2028 Presidential Run
Former Vice President Kamala Harris is signaling she may not be done with presidential politics.
Speaking at the National Action Network Convention, Harris confirmed she is “thinking about” running for president again in 2028, marking her most direct comments yet about a potential return to the campaign trail.
Harris, who was the Democratic nominee in the 2024 election, told the audience she understands the demands of the presidency after serving four years in the White House.
“I know what the job is, and I know what it requires,” she said, pointing to her experience working closely with presidential decision-making in the Oval Office and Situation Room.
Her remarks come as speculation grows about her next political move following a memoir release and national book tour. She has also been making appearances at Democratic events across the country, fueling further discussion about a possible campaign.
During her speech, Harris emphasized concerns about the current direction of the country, saying the “status quo is not working” for many Americans. She also criticized current foreign policy decisions, including the war with Iran, calling it troubling.
The response from the crowd was enthusiastic, with chants encouraging her to run again.
While Harris has not made a final decision, her comments suggest she is seriously weighing another bid for the White House as the potential 2028 field begins to take shape.
