TikTok Duo Taste Buds Explores Global Cuisine Without Leaving New York City

Dillon Davis and Nichols Neff, both 27, launched their TikTok journey from a Manhattan couch with a straightforward but ambitious goal: to sample food from every country on Earth without ever leaving the five boroughs of New York City.
The duo uses a virtual wheel to select a country at random and then researches the most authentic local spots to visit. Their first episode featured a trip to Little Armenia Cafe in Brooklyn, where they shared a meal and wine with owner Ararat El-Rawi. The video’s unpolished charm and genuine emotional connection to the food and culture resonated immediately with viewers, propelling the account to over 400,000 followers.
Unlike many influencers who seek out gimmicky dishes or free meals, Davis and Neff focus on hole-in-the-wall establishments that rarely receive major publicity. Their series has featured everything from Afghan mantu to Antiguan oxtail, often highlighting the personal stories of the restaurant owners. Many of these small businesses, including Moroccan restaurant Dar Lbahja and Bhutanese eatery The Weekender, have reported a significant boost in customers following their appearance on the channel.
The impact of the series extends beyond food reviews, as the creators have built lasting friendships with the people they meet. Kinley Dorji, owner of The Weekender, eventually joined the duo for a day of basketball and pizza, showcasing the community bond the project fosters.
