Amber Alert Continues for Missing 4-Year-Old Girl Abducted in Los Angeles
LOS ANGELES — A statewide Amber Alert remains in effect today as law enforcement officials intensify their search for a missing four-year-old girl who was abducted from Los Angeles over the weekend. Authorities state that the young child is believed to be in imminent danger.
The victim, identified as Daleza Fregoso, was last seen at approximately 4:00 AM on Sunday in the Arlington Heights area of South Los Angeles. The California Highway Patrol activated the emergency alert system on behalf of the Los Angeles Police Department after determining the child had been taken by 40-year-old Ruben Fregoso. While the suspect and the victim share a last name, investigators have not yet disclosed the exact nature of their relationship or the circumstances surrounding the abduction.
Daleza Fregoso is described as three feet tall and weighing approximately 45 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. The suspect, Ruben Fregoso, is described as five feet nine inches tall, weighing roughly 200 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
In a critical update released late Monday night, the California Highway Patrol reported that the white 2019 Land Rover Discovery the pair was originally traveling in has been successfully located by law enforcement. However, authorities have not specified where the SUV was found, and both the suspect and the young child remain missing.
Police are urging the public across Southern California to remain highly vigilant and look out for the individuals described. Anyone who spots the suspect or the missing child, or who has any information regarding their current whereabouts, is instructed to contact 911 immediately.
