Massive Fire Engulfs Medline Medical Supply Warehouse in Tracy, Triggering Evacuations
Fire crews in Northern California are currently battling a massive, fast-moving commercial structure fire that has fully engulfed a major medical supply distribution center near Stockton. The multi-alarm blaze broke out on Thursday afternoon at the Medline Industries Distribution Center, located in the 5700 block of Promontory Parkway in the city of Tracy. The extreme nature of the fire forced law enforcement officers and emergency personnel to execute immediate evacuations for the facility and several neighboring commercial warehouses.
The massive one-million-square-foot facility is operated by Medline Industries, a primary manufacturer and national distributor of critical medical products, including hospital surgical gloves, pharmaceutical goods, and laboratory supplies. Intense flames quickly compromised the structure's roof, sending a towering plume of thick black smoke into the Central Valley sky that is visible for miles. Due to the rapid spread of the fire and active spot fires breaking out nearby, first responders from multiple mutual aid agencies—including Stockton and surrounding county departments—are assisting local crews at the active scene.
Despite the severe scale of the property damage, fire officials and Tracy police representatives confirmed that no injuries have been reported at this hour, as all on-site personnel were safely evacuated and accounted for. Emergency services continue to monitor air quality and have instructed nearby residents to stay indoors, close all windows, and avoid the industrial corridor while containment efforts remain underway.
