Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Wedding Celebration Underway in New York City
One of the most anticipated celebrity weddings in recent memory is officially underway as Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce begin celebrating their wedding festivities in New York City.
The couple reportedly hosted a rehearsal dinner Thursday evening at Madison Square Garden ahead of a larger wedding celebration expected Friday night. According to NBC News, approximately 100 guests attended the private event, which featured a garden-themed setting inside the iconic arena.
Security around Madison Square Garden was noticeably heightened as crews erected privacy tents and curtains to shield the celebration from public view. Road closures and an increased police presence surrounded the venue as guests arrived in a procession of black SUVs.
While fans gathered outside hoping to catch a glimpse of the festivities, Swift and Kelce also made headlines for their philanthropy. Swift's representative confirmed to NBC News that the couple donated $26 million to charities across the United States in conjunction with their wedding celebration.
Among the organizations receiving support is "The Store," the Nashville nonprofit founded by country music star Brad Paisley and his wife, Kimberly Williams-Paisley. Paisley said he was honored by the donation and hinted he would likely attend the wedding festivities.
Fans, often known as "Swifties," gathered outside the venue despite not receiving invitations, hoping to witness even a small part of the celebration. Entertainment experts say the wedding marks a milestone many longtime fans have followed through Swift's music, making the event especially meaningful to her supporters.
NBC News reports a much larger celebration is expected Friday evening as the couple continues their wedding festivities in New York City.
