Litecoin Creator Charlie Lee Talks Adoption and Utility at Bitcoin Conference 2025
Crypto Fitz is back with his final report from Bitcoin Conference 2025 in Las Vegas, where he caught up with Charlie Lee, the creator of Litecoin. As one of the oldest cryptocurrencies in circulation, Litecoin continues to draw interest across the financial and tech sectors.
"Litecoin has been around for 14 years now. Its main purpose is for payments, for everyday usage," said Lee during the interview. While Litecoin is regularly listed on business news channels alongside Bitcoin and Ethereum, its public perception faces challenges.
Lee pointed out that despite its long-standing presence and efficiency, Litecoin struggles with mainstream adoption. "Once you've used Litecoin, you realize how good, fast, and easy it is. But there’s a lot of noise—meme coins and other attention-grabbing projects. Litecoin isn’t as flashy, but it’s much more useful."
The Bitcoin Conference offered a platform for blockchain leaders and innovators to connect, share strategies, and focus on the future of decentralized finance.
Crypto Fitz, also known as Jimmy Fitz, continues to explore the intersection of finance and technology every Tuesday on the 6 o’clock news. Viewers can find more coverage, including a Bitcoin glossary, past segments, and exclusive interviews, on the Crypto Fitz page at NBCPalmSprings.com.

We spoke with Mateo Gomez of Forest Lawn about the importance of keeping those memories alive and creating healthier conversations around grief and loss, including the stigma surrounding suicide. Join Forest Lawn for a special Día de los Muertos celebration this Monday in Cathedral City, from 5 to 8 p.m. Families are invited to come together, remember loved ones and celebrate their lives. #DiaDeLosMuertos #DayOfTheDead #ForestLawn #CathedralCity #RememberingLovedOnes #GriefSupport #NBCPalmSprings
