Nithya Raman Overtakes Spencer Pratt in LA Mayor’s Race
An update tonight in the race for Los Angeles mayor as updated vote totals show Nithya Raman overtaking reality television personality Spencer Pratt for second place.
According to the latest results from Los Angeles County, Raman now leads Pratt by just over 3,000 votes as ballot counting continues following California’s June 2 primary election.
Incumbent Mayor Karen Bass has already secured a spot in the November runoff election.
Meanwhile, the Trump administration says it is investigating what it describes as possible voter fraud tied to California’s primary election, though no public evidence has been released at this time.
Federal officials say multiple investigations are underway, while California election leaders maintain that the extended ballot counting process is routine due to the high volume of mail-in ballots that continue to be processed after Election Day.
Los Angeles County officials say updated vote totals will continue to be released daily throughout the week as counting continues.
