Palm Desert’s Veg ER for Pets Offers 24/7 Emergency Care for Valley Pets
Pet owners in the Coachella Valley now have access to around-the-clock emergency care at Veg ER for Pets in Palm Desert, the area’s only 24/7 animal emergency hospital. For many local families, the facility has quickly become an essential resource when unexpected health crises arise for their pets.
Dr. Keith Mahansky explained that Veg ER for Pets was founded with a simple mission: to help people and their pets when they need it most. The hospital’s unique approach focuses not only on top-quality medical care but also on the emotional needs of pet owners during stressful emergencies.
One feature that sets Veg ER apart is its open-concept emergency room. As soon as families walk in, they are welcomed directly into the treatment area, where doctors immediately assess pets at triage tables. Owners are included in every step of the process, from observing procedures to staying overnight with their pets if hospitalization is required. Exam rooms even include pull-out beds so families can remain close.
The hospital is dedicated exclusively to emergency care, but staff regularly collaborate with local primary care veterinarians to ensure patients receive comprehensive treatment. Medical records are shared promptly, and primary vets are kept in the loop to coordinate ongoing care.
Veg ER for Pets is part of a rapidly growing network with more than 100 locations nationwide. The Palm Desert hospital is the 104th location overall and the 13th in California. A 14th California location has recently opened, expanding access for pet owners across the state.
