Bob Odenkirk Stars in New Action Film “Normal” From John Wick Writer
A new action-packed thriller is heading to theaters this weekend, bringing together familiar talent from one of Hollywood’s most successful action franchises.
“Normal,” written by John Wick creator Derek Kolstad, stars Bob Odenkirk as a small-town sheriff in Minnesota whose quiet life begins to unravel when danger arrives in his community.
Odenkirk says what drew him to the project was its unique approach to storytelling. Rather than jumping straight into action, the film takes time to establish the town and its quirky residents, while hinting that something isn’t quite right beneath the surface.
The film blends suspense with character-driven moments, as Odenkirk’s lawman and a mysterious figure circle each other before the story escalates into full-scale chaos.
Known for his comedic background, Odenkirk once again steps into the role of an unlikely action hero, following his success in previous action roles. The film also highlights the importance of community, even as the story takes a darker turn.

A troubling history is coming to light in a Palm Desert husband’s death. 65-year old Vicky Kim is accused in the death of her husband — but prosecutors say she had previously faced several domestic violence cases involving him. The Riverside County District Attorney’s Office says it had secured protective orders against Kim before a judge later resolved her cases as misdemeanors, released her from custody and terminated those orders. Now, Kim is expected to be arraigned in connection with her husband’s death. Court records allege the weapon used was a flagpole.
