Australian police investigate allegation against Katy Perry following claim by Ruby Rose
Australian authorities have launched an investigation following a sexual assault allegation made by actress Ruby Rose against singer Katy Perry.
Police in Victoria confirmed that investigators are reviewing a reported incident that allegedly took place in a Melbourne nightclub in 2010. The case is being handled by a specialized unit focused on sexual offenses, though officials say they cannot provide further details due to the ongoing nature of the investigation.
Ruby Rose first made the allegation earlier this week in a social media post, claiming the incident occurred years ago. She later indicated that she had filed a formal police report and would no longer comment publicly as the investigation moves forward.
Katy Perry has denied the accusation. A representative for the singer called the claims “categorically false” and described them as “reckless.”
Authorities have not announced any charges, and no additional information has been released at this time.
The investigation comes as both figures remain prominent in the entertainment world. Perry recently completed a world tour following the release of her latest album, while Rose has continued her work in film and television.
As the case develops, officials say the process will follow standard investigative procedures.
