‘Coyote vs. Acme’ Finally Hits Theaters After Warner Bros. Shelved the Film

After years of uncertainty, “Coyote vs. Acme” is finally making its way to movie theaters.

The film, originally scheduled for release in 2023, was shelved by Warner Bros. before being picked up by a different distributor. It is now arriving in theaters, giving audiences a chance to finally see the live-action and animated comedy.

The movie puts Wile E. Coyote in an unexpected role: a plaintiff taking on the company behind the products that have repeatedly caused him trouble.

In the film, Wile E. Coyote hires a lawyer and takes Acme to court, arguing that the company knowingly manufactured dangerous products.

“You're looking at the guy who is taking on the biggest corporation in the world,” one character says in the film.

For the actors involved, working alongside the iconic Looney Tunes characters was a unique experience.

One cast member described seeing the finished movie for the first time as an emotional moment, saying it finally registered that he had the opportunity to act alongside Wile E. Coyote and other Looney Tunes characters.

The production combined live-action performances with puppetry and animation. The filmmakers used puppets to help actors block scenes before removing them for the final shots.

Eric Bauza, known for performing several Looney Tunes voices, provides multiple voices in the film, including Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and Porky Pig.

After the film spent years in limbo, those involved say the most important part is that audiences will finally have an opportunity to see it.
