Joe, Whiskey, and Quirky Country Tunes: It's a Holiday Trifecta on Hashtag Holiday Calendar & Pop Quiz!
First up, it's National Quirky Country Music Song Day, a celebration of those wonderfully weird country and western song titles that only Nashville could dream up. We're talking classics like a tune about still missing someone but improving your aim, a Roger Miller hit about the impossibility of roller skating in a buffalo herd, and a Loretta Lynn and Conway Twitty duet that places the blame squarely on the parents. Country music, never change.
It's also International Whiskey Day, and there's actually something worth knowing before you raise your glass. The spelling of the spirit varies by country, with the Irish and Americans including an extra letter that the Scots, Canadians, and Japanese leave out. Cheers to learning something new.
And rounding out the trio, it's International Joe Day, a shoutout to every Joe, Joey, Joseph, Josephine, and any other variation of the name out there, including one very famous Joe Pesci.

A troubling history is coming to light in a Palm Desert husband’s death. 65-year old Vicky Kim is accused in the death of her husband — but prosecutors say she had previously faced several domestic violence cases involving him. The Riverside County District Attorney’s Office says it had secured protective orders against Kim before a judge later resolved her cases as misdemeanors, released her from custody and terminated those orders. Now, Kim is expected to be arraigned in connection with her husband’s death. Court records allege the weapon used was a flagpole.
