Donuts, Moonshine and a Little Trivia: Test Your Holiday Knowledge with Jerry
Friday is packed with some of the more offbeat entries on the calendar, including National Donut Day, National Veggie Burger Day, and National Moonshine Day.
National Donut Day dates back to 1938, when Chicago's Salvation Army launched it as a fundraiser during the Great Depression. National Veggie Burger Day is a nudge for the carnivores out there to give the plant-based patty a shot, and with how far veggie burgers have come in recent years, it might be worth the try. And National Moonshine Day celebrates the clandestine tradition of illegal distillers who brewed their spirits under cover of night to avoid detection.
