Hashtag Trivia
Oh Yeah! It's Time For Hashtag Holiday Calendar
Friday, August 21st is a busy one on the Hashtag Holiday Calendar, and Jerry Steffen brought the trivia to match. The segment, sponsored by One Coachella Valley, kicked things off with a look at three quirky holidays landing on the same day, Brazilian Blowout Day, National Spumoni Day, and National Kool-Aid Day.
Brazilian Blowout Day had the crew a little confused at first, but it turns out the day celebrates the popular hair treatment designed to give women with thick, puffy hair a sleek, smooth look, even though there is some ongoing debate about whether the process is good for your hair in the long run.
National Spumoni Day honors the colorful Italian ice cream dessert made with layers like cherry and pistachio, mixed with nuts and candied fruits. And rounding out the day is National Kool-Aid Day, marking 99 years since the powdered drink mix hit the market, and giving the crew the perfect excuse to build the morning's pop quiz around it.
Since Kool-Aid was the theme of the day, Jerry put together two questions all about the beloved beverage's history. Think you know your Kool-Aid trivia better than the crew? Test your knowledge by watching the video above, where Manny and the team take their best guesses.
1) When Kool-Aid first hit the market in 1927, there were six flavors, cherry, grape, lemon, lime, orange, raspberry, and one more. What was it?
A) Root beer
B) Strawberry
C) Watermelon
2) The Kool-Aid Man has been the drink mix's official mascot since 1954, famously smashing through walls and furniture before shouting his signature catchphrase. What does he say?
A) Drink up!
B) Hey, kids!
C) Oh, yeah!
Catch Hashtag Holiday Calendar Pop Quiz weekday mornings, and don't forget to stick around for movie news with Manny, the latest headlines with Thalia, and Jerry's forecast to close out the show.
