Thousands of residents and visitors lined the streets on Saturday night, ready to experience the annual event that has become a beloved tradition. The evening kicked off with the dazzling Parade of Lights, featuring an array of sparkling floats, including appearances by local favorites. The festive energy continued with the Holiday Festival, which took over the city and began with a heartwarming tree lighting ceremony. This marked the official start of the holiday season in Desert Hot Springs. “It’s just a spectacular night,” one attendee shared. “This is small-town America in the heart of a larger metro area, and events like this truly bring our community together.” Guests enjoyed live music, delicious food, and the joyful atmosphere as families gathered to celebrate. A special highlight of the evening was the opportunity for children to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus, capturing precious holiday memories. The event wrapped up around 10 p.m., leaving attendees full of cheer and excitement for the season ahead. Palm Springs firefighters responded Thursday to a report of a person struck by lightning in the Chino Canyon area. The person was transported to a hospital for medical treatment. Firefighters also responded to a palm tree fire in Chino Canyon that officials say was caused by an apparent lightning strike. Estevan Figueroa of King’s Club Barbershop is giving back across the Coachella Valley — one haircut at a time.
