Ex-Sheriff's Deputy Pleads Guilty to Fentanyl Charges
Jorge Alberto Oceguera Rocha, a former Riverside County sheriff's deputy, has been sentenced to probation after pleading guilty to felony charges related to transporting over 100 pounds of fentanyl on the 10 Freeway. The 26-year-old, from Banning, admitted to felony charges including the transportation of controlled substances. The plea agreement was directly negotiated with the judge, bypassing input from the Riverside County District Attorney's Office. Rocha's actions led to a significant arrest but ultimately resulted in probation, which has raised concerns in the local community. The case highlights the growing concerns around law enforcement officers being involved in drug trafficking.
