Cathedral City Police Hold Community Meeting After Bullhorn Bullying Incident
CATHEDRAL CITY – What began as a disturbing neighborhood dispute involving racist and homophobic slurs shouted through a bullhorn has now turned into a broader community conversation about safety and accountability.
Following NBC Palm Springs' coverage of the Cathedral Cove bullhorn bullying incident, Cathedral City Police took action, citing the individual responsible and confiscating the bullhorn as evidence. The department then hosted a community meeting at City Hall to discuss how law enforcement and residents can work together to prevent similar incidents in the future.
Residents who attended the meeting expressed frustration and demanded change, with many voicing concerns over hate speech and neighborhood disruptions. Police Chief George Crum assured the crowd that his department remains committed to maintaining peace and safety, announcing plans to hold community meetings every other month to keep communication open between law enforcement and residents.
The police department’s swift response and the community’s willingness to engage in dialogue signal a collective effort to prevent harassment and foster a safer environment in Cathedral City.

A high-speed police chase in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, came to a dramatic end when the vehicle plunged into Lake Como. Dashcam video released by police shows the pursuit before the car crashes into the water. Four people inside the vehicle were pulled from the lake with no serious injuries reported.
