"Quantum Astronaut" Lands in Downtown Palm Springs for Limited Time
PALM SPRINGS, CA – A mesmerizing new sculpture has touched down in downtown Palm Springs, captivating art lovers and passersby alike. The Quantum Astronaut, a breathtaking piece by Julian Voss-Andreae, now stands in front of The Rowan Hotel, thanks to a collaboration between Hohmann Fine Art, Grit Development, and Kimpton Hotel The Rowan.
Voss-Andreae, a former quantum physicist turned artist, is known for blending science and art in ways that challenge perception. His work has gained global recognition, with Quantum Astronaut becoming an internet sensation, garnering over 90 million views after a video of the piece went viral.
Best known locally for his sculpture Isabelle, which has become a beloved fixture in downtown Palm Springs, Voss-Andreae continues to push the boundaries of contemporary sculpture. Quantum Astronaut invites viewers to contemplate the mysteries of space, time, and human exploration, seamlessly merging art with quantum physics.
The sculpture will remain on public display for the next two months, leading up to Voss-Andreae’s highly anticipated solo exhibition at HOHMANN Fine Art in Palm Desert this April.

A troubling history is coming to light in a Palm Desert husband’s death. 65-year old Vicky Kim is accused in the death of her husband — but prosecutors say she had previously faced several domestic violence cases involving him. The Riverside County District Attorney’s Office says it had secured protective orders against Kim before a judge later resolved her cases as misdemeanors, released her from custody and terminated those orders. Now, Kim is expected to be arraigned in connection with her husband’s death. Court records allege the weapon used was a flagpole.
