Progressive Group Protests White House and Musk in Palm Desert, Urges Congressman Calvert to Prioritize Constituents
Members of the progressive advocacy group MoveOn gathered in Palm Desert today to protest against the White House and business magnate Elon Musk. The demonstration, which took place near the heart of Palm Desert, was organized to send a strong message to Congressman Ken Calvert, urging him to stand with the people who elected him.
During the rally, organizers made it clear that they believe Calvert should not be accountable to billionaires but rather to the constituents who voted for him. We elected him, and he should not be accountable to billionaires who are trying to cut corners and take money out of the pockets of the literal people who elected him, just to line his own pockets.”

A troubling history is coming to light in a Palm Desert husband’s death. 65-year old Vicky Kim is accused in the death of her husband — but prosecutors say she had previously faced several domestic violence cases involving him. The Riverside County District Attorney’s Office says it had secured protective orders against Kim before a judge later resolved her cases as misdemeanors, released her from custody and terminated those orders. Now, Kim is expected to be arraigned in connection with her husband’s death. Court records allege the weapon used was a flagpole.
