Rancho Mirage Fixes In-N-Out Smell in 4 Days, While Cathedral City Pot Plant Odor Lingers
It’s a tale of two smells—and two very different approaches to solving them. Residents in Rancho Mirage and Cathedral City have both voiced concerns over persistent odors, but only one city found a quick solution.
In Rancho Mirage, community complaints about a strong smell coming from In-N-Out prompted immediate action. The popular burger spot closed temporarily to address the issue, reopening just four days later with the problem resolved.
Cathedral City faces a similar challenge with a lingering odor from a local cannabis facility. Despite efforts from both the plant and city officials to fix the problem, progress has been slow. “You can try all you want, but it’s not fixed until it’s fixed,” residents say.
Some humor has emerged from the situation, with suggestions that the Cathedral City Council stand outside the pot plant for a “contact high,” grab burgers at In-N-Out for the munchies, and ask how the burger chain solved its issue so efficiently.
While Rancho Mirage demonstrates a proactive approach, Cathedral City residents remain hopeful for a quicker resolution.
