Free Hockney-Inspired Kids’ Art Workshop Coming to The Gardens on El Paseo
Families looking for a fun, creative, and free event this weekend can visit The Gardens on El Paseo for Hockney Plus You, an experiential art workshop for children taking place this Sunday from 11 AM to 3 PM.
This free community event invites kids of all ages to explore the colorful, bold style of David Hockney through hands-on painting and art activities. The workshop is designed to inspire young artists while celebrating the Palm Springs Art Museum’s ongoing Hockney exhibition, which runs through March.
Sponsored by Jordan D. Schnitzer and his Family Foundation, the event offers a unique opportunity for children to experiment with creativity and artistic expression in an engaging environment.
Families are encouraged to drop by anytime between 11 AM and 3 PM for this interactive and educational experience.

Palm Springs is mourning the loss of beloved entertainer James “Gypsy” Haake, who has died at 94. Haake began his entertainment career at just 19 years old as a Broadway chorus dancer. After retiring from the stage, he returned to performing at 82, becoming the host of Carnival Cabaret at Oscars in downtown Palm Springs. A longtime friend of our station, Haake was a familiar and beloved figure in the Palm Springs entertainment community — and his contributions were recognized with a star on the Palm Springs Walk of Stars.
