Palm Springs Chamber of Commerce Hosts Police and Fire Appreciation Luncheon
The Palm Springs Chamber of Commerce hosted a special Police and Fire Appreciation Luncheon to recognize the tireless work of local first responders. This annual event honors police officers and firefighters for their unwavering service to the Palm Springs community and surrounding areas.
In addition to paying tribute to those in law enforcement and firefighting, the event also acknowledged other prominent figures who contribute significantly to the community’s well-being. One such individual was Aftab Dada, the General Manager of the Hilton Palm Springs, who was awarded the Community Leadership Award. Dada was recognized for his decades of exemplary service to the hospitality industry and for being an integral part of the Palm Springs community.
Aftab Dada’s connection to the Coachella Valley community is well-known, and his dedication to both the local business scene and the residents of Palm Springs has earned him widespread admiration. Dada's leadership and commitment to the area have helped build a stronger, more vibrant community.
The luncheon was an opportunity for community members to express their gratitude and appreciation for the vital roles played by first responders, hospitality leaders, and other influential figures in the region. It was a reminder of the importance of service to others and the invaluable contributions made by those who dedicate their time and effort to improving the quality of life in the Coachella Valley.

UPDATE: The San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department have confirmed that one person has died and another two were injured after a home explosion on Ocotillo Rd in Twentynine Palms. Security camera video from a nearby neighbor captured the dramatic blast around 8:28 p.m., followed by a fire that brought a massive emergency response from fire and law enforcement agencies across the Morongo Basin. The burning structure has been confirmed as a residence at 6427 Ocotillo Ave. The cause of the explosion remains under investigation and the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Arson/Bomb Detail team is conducting the investigation.
