Cathedral City's LGBTQ+ Festivities Highlighted by Bed Races, Drag Race, and After Party
The biggest event of the year for LGBTQ+ pride in Cathedral City took place earlier today, marking a day full of celebration and inclusivity. The annual Bed Races, a unique and fun event, kicked off at 11 a.m. outside City Hall, with participants racing in creatively decorated beds. The atmosphere was filled with joy as racers competed for fun and pride, drawing a large crowd in support of the LGBTQ+ community. Following the Bed Races, the excitement continued with the Drag Race at noon, which added even more energy to the day’s festivities. Both events showcased the community's vibrant spirit, highlighting the importance of pride and celebration. The day's final event, the "After Party Tequila and Trivia," hosted by Deven and Ned, wrapped up the festivities, offering a fun and engaging way for attendees to end the day. However, the celebrations didn’t stop there, as people continued to gather on Arenas Street, where cocktails flowed freely. Event-goers shared how meaningful the celebration was for the LGBTQ+ community, with many noting that this was the first major pride event of the year in California. The event marked not only a celebration of pride but also an opportunity to reflect on the strides made by the LGBTQ+ community. The energy and excitement were palpable as attendees embraced a day of joy and unity. As the after-party continued, it was clear that the pride celebrations were only just beginning, with more to look forward to in the months ahead.
