Indio’s Little Street Music Hall Hosts 4th Annual Coachella Valley Comedy Festival
If you're looking for some laughs, the city of Indio has just the event for you. Comedy Fest 2025 kicks off next week at the Little Street Music Hall, bringing a wave of humor to the Coachella Valley. This marks the fourth year of the Coachella Valley Comedy Festival, which showcases nearly 50 comedians, many of whom, like Alex Avila, are local talents from the area.
Avila, a comedian based in the desert, shared his excitement about the festival’s impact, especially for comedians who feel somewhat isolated from the larger comedy scenes in cities like Los Angeles. “It brings you closer. It creates a community,” he said, highlighting how the festival helps connect local performers with a broader audience.
The festival isn’t just about local talent, though. Comedians from Los Angeles and the Bay Area are also taking the stage, including performers like Irene, who joked about the fun confusion surrounding her appearance, and Avery Pearson, who will perform Thursday night. Kyle Reel, known for his observational humor, will headline on Saturday, promising a comedic showcase full of laughs and fresh perspectives.
The festival has grown over the years, moving from Coachella Valley Brewery to the larger Little Street Music Hall, allowing the event to attract new audiences and bring even more energy to the city of Indio. The expansion marks a significant milestone for the festival, which continues to strengthen the comedy scene in the Coachella Valley.

Palm Springs is mourning the loss of beloved entertainer James “Gypsy” Haake, who has died at 94. Haake began his entertainment career at just 19 years old as a Broadway chorus dancer. After retiring from the stage, he returned to performing at 82, becoming the host of Carnival Cabaret at Oscars in downtown Palm Springs. A longtime friend of our station, Haake was a familiar and beloved figure in the Palm Springs entertainment community — and his contributions were recognized with a star on the Palm Springs Walk of Stars.
