BNP Paribas Renews Sponsorship For Tennis Tournament
The BNP Paribas Open, one of tennis' most prestigious events and often referred to as the "fifth Grand Slam," will remain at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden for at least another five years. This major announcement was made earlier today during a press conference attended by officials from both BNP Paribas and the tennis garden, confirming the extension of BNP Paribas' sponsorship through 2029.
The relationship between BNP Paribas and the tournament began in 2009, and the bank has now been the title sponsor for a remarkable 17 years, making it one of the longest-running title sponsorships in the history of the event. Tournament officials, including Tournament Director Tommy Haas, spoke with enthusiasm about the future of the event, citing their dedication to maintaining the high standards fans have come to expect.
"We look forward to continuing to work with BNP Paribas in the upcoming years to build upon the tradition of excellence we have created together," said Haas. "Our goal is to provide fans with thrilling matches, unforgettable moments, and an unparalleled experience at Tennis Paradise here in Indian Wells."
BNP Paribas USA CEO also expressed the importance of their role in supporting the local community, highlighting their focus on youth outreach and creating opportunities for the next generation.
"We want to make this tournament a destination, one that people want to come to," he remarked. "And we want to continue making it easy to be the title sponsor, with an ongoing commitment to the local area." Says BNP Paribas USA CEO Jose Placido.
In addition to the sponsorship extension, BNP Paribas announced a significant increase in their scholarship program for local students. Just days ago, four scholarships were awarded to senior student-athletes at Indio High School, and over the next few years, they will provide 10 scholarships to deserving students from the Coachella Valley.
