Festival Season Leads to Road Closures in Indio Starting Today
As festival season kicks off, road closures related to events like Coachella have started today. At 6:00 AM, Avenue 50, which runs from Monroe Street to Madison Street, was closed off to traffic. This closure will remain in effect until May 4th, impacting commuters and residents in the area.
The closures are in preparation for the upcoming Coachella festival and other local events. Drivers are advised to plan ahead and find alternate routes to avoid delays. The festival season typically brings temporary road closures to ensure safety and smooth traffic flow around event venues.

UPDATE: The San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department have confirmed that one person has died and another two were injured after a home explosion on Ocotillo Rd in Twentynine Palms. Security camera video from a nearby neighbor captured the dramatic blast around 8:28 p.m., followed by a fire that brought a massive emergency response from fire and law enforcement agencies across the Morongo Basin. The burning structure has been confirmed as a residence at 6427 Ocotillo Ave. The cause of the explosion remains under investigation and the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Arson/Bomb Detail team is conducting the investigation.
