Is Your Dog the Cutest? Palm Desert Library Hosts Dog Photo Contest
Do you believe your dog is the cutest in town? Now's your chance to prove it! The Palm Desert Library is hosting a Top Dog photo contest to find the most adorable pup in the area. This event is part of the Palm Desert Read 2025 program, which features the New York Times bestseller Finding Gobi.
To enter, simply submit a photo of your dog to libraryinfo@palmdesert.gov. But make sure to capture the spirit of our stunning desert surroundings in the picture! The contest invites local dog owners to show off their furry friends, and everyone can vote for their favorites.
The winners will be announced at a special event on Saturday, March 29th, from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the UCR Palm Desert Auditorium. Prizes will be awarded to the cutest pups, so don’t miss your chance to see which dog takes the crown.
The Palm Desert Library is excited to celebrate all the friendly, furry companions in town, and this contest is sure to bring smiles to the community.

Palm Springs firefighters responded Thursday to a report of a person struck by lightning in the Chino Canyon area. The person was transported to a hospital for medical treatment. Firefighters also responded to a palm tree fire in Chino Canyon that officials say was caused by an apparent lightning strike.
