Big Horn BAM Raises Over $1 Million for Coachella Valley Cancer Care for Third Straight Year
For the third consecutive year, Big Horn BAM—a fundraising initiative by Big Horn Golf Club Charities—has raised more than $1 million to support cancer care efforts across the Coachella Valley.
The achievement was celebrated in colorful style during a Willy Wonka-themed luncheon, honoring both the donors and the vital organizations that will benefit from the funds. This year’s donations will support Eisenhower Health, Desert Regional Medical Center, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and Loma Linda Children’s Hospital.
Since its inception in 2007, BAM has raised more than $14 million, directly contributing to patient care, treatment advancements, and support services for individuals and families impacted by cancer.
Organizers say this milestone is a testament to the power of community. “It’s the generosity of our supporters that allows us to make a real and lasting difference,” said a BAM representative. “Every dollar raised is a step forward in the fight against cancer.”
The annual luncheon not only serves as a fundraising event, but also a celebration of resilience, unity, and hope for those battling cancer throughout the region.

Palm Springs is mourning the loss of beloved entertainer James “Gypsy” Haake, who has died at 94. Haake began his entertainment career at just 19 years old as a Broadway chorus dancer. After retiring from the stage, he returned to performing at 82, becoming the host of Carnival Cabaret at Oscars in downtown Palm Springs. A longtime friend of our station, Haake was a familiar and beloved figure in the Palm Springs entertainment community — and his contributions were recognized with a star on the Palm Springs Walk of Stars.
