Photojournalism Spotlighted at Desert Exhibit Opening
A new exhibition is celebrating the power of photojournalism in the Coachella Valley.
“Desert Images” held its grand opening Saturday at the Impell Gallery in Palm Springs.
The event drew a crowd eager to explore striking photographs taken right here in the desert.
Featured images include iconic moments with figures like Serena Williams and Barack Obama.
Each photo highlights the depth and impact of visual storytelling in local journalism.
The exhibition is more than just art—it supports a greater cause.
Funds raised will benefit the Coachella Valley Journalism Foundation’s internship program.
Organizers say they hope the event inspires the next wave of storytellers.
A representative said, “We really hope that's a good encouragement for that next generation of journalists.”
Visitors can view—and purchase—these powerful images through Friday, May 16th.
It’s a tribute to the region’s rich journalistic legacy and a push to build its future.
