Desert Hot Springs Native Represents California in Miss US Latina Pageant

Desert Hot Springs native Estefanía Rodríguez is proudly representing California on the national stage as she competes in the Miss US Latina pageant. The competition highlights both cultural pride and beauty, bringing together women from across the country.

For Rodríguez, 23, the journey began years ago when she accepted an invitation to be Princess of Desert Hot Springs. That early experience sparked her passion for community involvement and pageantry.

“You know, I was offered to be Princess of Desert Hot Springs. I said, why not?” Rodríguez recalled. “Through it, I did a lot of volunteering and went to different events.”

She later earned her first official title as Queen of Desert Hot Springs and continued to pursue pageantry while attending UC Riverside. For Rodríguez, pageants became more than competitions — they provided scholarship opportunities, community connections, and personal growth.

“I grew up being a very shy person. I was always the quiet girl in class,” she said. “When I started competing, I came out of this bubble. It helped me become more outgoing and enjoy conversations with people.”

As the daughter of immigrant parents, Rodríguez says representing her heritage has always been central to her goals. She grew up speaking Spanish at home and has worked to strengthen her language skills, recognizing the importance of cultural identity in her pageant journey.

“There’s an emphasis on speaking Spanish, which comes with discipline and preparation,” Rodríguez shared.

Now preparing to compete in Miami, Florida, Rodríguez hopes her story inspires young women across the country.

“I do want to encourage young girls that if there’s an opportunity or if there’s a door that’s closed, make sure that door is open,” she said. “With perseverance and passion, you’ll be able to open that door.”
